Welcome to SPSA

Thank you to all 2015 Meeting Attendees! The SPSA experienced record breaking attendance. We look forward to seeing everyone back in San Juan!

“Welcome to the website of the Southern Political Science Association, the nation’s oldest regional political science association. I hope you find our redesigned website informative and easy to use. Drop down menus allow easy access to information about joining the SPSA and also about the Association’s leadership, programs, and grants and awards.

The SPSA is committed to serving the broad community of political scientists and others interested in the study and teaching of politics. The Association hosts a conference each January which provides a venue for the presentation and discussion of the latest research in political science as well as opportunities for attendees to interact and network in a collegial environment. The SPSA’s journal, The Journal of Politics, is a leading general interest journal in political science, publishing theoretically innovative and methodologically diverse research in all subfields of the discipline.

I invite you to take a moment and peruse our website. If you are an SPSA member, thanks! If you are not a member of the SPSA, please consider joining. And a reminder: our 2016 conference will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico; our 2017 conference will take place in New Orleans.”
