The 2026 SPSA Summer Virtual Meeting takes place Monday, June 15th – Tuesday, June 16th!
The Summer Conference consists of two days of virtual research panels, poster sessions, and Professional Development Workshops. Panels are organized as Research Workshops, where all participants serve as both paper presenters and discussants, and are scheduled for 1 hour and 50 minutes. All activities take place online, and participants will be sent instructions for logging into the conference before events begin.

Registration
Registration for the 2026 Virtual Summer Conference is now open and available through our membership portal. If you attended the SPSA Annual Meeting last January in New Orleans, you do NOT have to register for the Summer Conference separately. Registration for the summer meeting was included in your January meeting registration fees. All attendees of the 2026 Annual Meeting who submit a proposal for the Summer Conference will be automatically registered. Attendees of the 2026 Annual Meeting who would like to attend but not present at the virtual conference should contact spsa.conference@spsa.net for a complimentary registration.
KiND Workshops
During the upcoming SPSA Virtual Summer Conference, join KiND for one or more professional development sessions.
On June 15th, attend “Two Ways to Share Your Research,” where you will engage in hands-on activities aimed at enhancing your research communication skills, focusing specifically on writing executive and lay summaries.
On June 16th, take part in “Broadening the Qualitative Methods Toolbox,” where you will be guided to think creatively beyond structured interviewing, broadening your methods toolbox with approaches borrowed from political ethnography, participatory research, therapy and social work, as well as arts-based research.
All workshops can be taken either within or outside of the KiND/SPSA Professional Development Certificate program. Workshop registration opens on May 31st, update your KiND profile and contact information and you will receive an email notification as soon as registration is available.
Conference Fees
If you did not attend the January SPSA meeting, then you must pay a registration fee in order to participate in the Virtual Summer Meeting: $90 for professional members, $65 for retiree/student members, or $175 for nonmembers. Register HERE.
Continue the Conversation from January
Our Virtual Meeting offers an opportunity to reconvene 2026 in-person conference panels. Panels interested in meeting again can reconnect with one another and discuss how paper revisions are going, report on journal responses to submissions, etc. Many “Conference Within a Conference” panels find it beneficial to extend their discussions into the Summer Virtual Meeting. Anyone wishing to organize a complete panel or series of panels during our Virtual Meeting should contact spsa.conference@spsa.net.
