The Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor position in Public Law to begin Fall 2020. Area of specialization in Public Law and field within Political Science are open. We are particularly interested in applicants who use rigorous analytical approaches to address substantively important questions including but not limited to issues of race, gender, and/or inequality in the law or legal processes. The successful candidate must have strong research skills and a theoretically oriented research agenda that will lead to publication in peer-reviewed outlets (journals and/or books). Preference will be shown for applicants with teaching and research interests that complement existing departmental interests and strengths, have a capacity for attracting extramural funding, demonstrate evidence of or potential for college/university teaching excellence, and exhibit a commitment to diversity and inclusion. The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
